The Best Investment Now

The markets are in turmoil.  Up 400 one day, down 700 the next, up again 900 a week later after consistent daily declines.  Fundamentals seem to have been thrown out the window along with investor confidence.  The talking heads continue to prognosticate further doom and gloom, predicting that we haven't yet hit bottom.

It's hard to keep an optimistic outlook when bombarded with all this bad news.  But for many of us, it's mostly an illusion.  If you're not facing foreclosure and you have enough to eat, you have reason to be grateful.

But being grateful for what you have doesn't mean having to settle for having less than you'd like.  If you're dissatisfied with your life in any way, now is a perfect time to be taking steps toward improving your future.

THE BEST INVESTMENT YOU CAN MAKE RIGHT NOW

The best thing you can do, in bad times as well as good, is invest in yourself.  I don't mean buying that new pair of shoes you've had your eye on.  I mean investing in learning a new skill, updating existing ones, and exploring what's possible out there in the world.  There are so many news business ideas and jobs that didn't exist before.  Is there a field that intrigues you?  Investigate how people got into that line of work and how they are enjoying it.  If it appeals to you, ask for advice on how to get there.  What are the growth prospects?  In new fields of endeavor, it's often hard to know.  But if it's something that sparks your passion, it may be just the thing for you.

It's difficult to make changes in times of uncertainty.  But as the old saying goes, 'This too shall pass.'  And when it does, you want to be ready to take action when opportunity comes knocking.  Start investing in yourself now, preparing for that opportunity.  You'll be pleased with your ROI, guaranteed.
