Seeing v. Seizing

There is a big difference between seeing an opportunity and seizing an opportunity.

Awaken ... Aspire ... Achieve!
Are you seeing your opportunities and seizing them?

One of the skills that I teach my clients is how to be an Opportunity Analyst. Not all opportunities are created equal, and we must always evaluate them based on how they fit into our vision of our ideal life.

Have you seen the movie "Sliding Doors?" Starring Gwyneth Paltrow, the premise of the film revolves around a moment in her life when she just misses the subway (hence the 'sliding doors' title) ... or not. The plot splits along two lines, one following what happens to her after she's cut off by the sliding doors and misses the train, and the other after she just barely slides through the doors and makes it onto the train. We all have moments in our lives when a few seconds makes the difference in the events that follow. They may be as seemingly insignificant as which train we get on, or as monumental as which job we take or which career path we choose.

Contrary to the popular saying, Opportunity continues to knock even if we ignore it most of the time. Each day presents new choices and new directions. We have to see our opportunities before we can seize them, and they may not always come in obviously recognizable form.  Are you spotting and acknowledging them, or dismissing them without seeing them for what they are?  Learn how to recognize Opportunity in your own life and you'll begin to see it's everywhere!
