I'm really excited about the event, and felt so energized after the call.  If you didn't listen, here are some of the nuggets that Ali shared:

It's about the right brain -- empathy, creativity, connection.  The era of competition, of getting ahead at any cost, at measuring everything in dollars and cents and trying to squeeze more out of everyone is coming to a close.  And not a moment too soon, in my humble opinion!  The quest for more money and more "stuff" is what brought us the Bernie Madoffs and the Allan Stanfords of the world.  In the future it's going to be about providing value and receiving value in return, bringing more of the "human" touch to business.  It's about doing what you and only you can do -- something that can never be outsourced or automated -- and being paid appropriately for the gifts and talents you bring to the world.

It's about your spirit.  There's a renewed interest now in meaning, purpose, and spirituality.  Our material abundance hasn't brought us fulfillment -- if anything, it's just the opposite.  It's time for us to really understand what "being human" is all about.  Why are we here?  The resurgence in the study of Universal law, meditation, self-discovery, and connection to the divine is all part of the new way of being on and with the planet .  We're realizing that we're all connected and that exploitation of one demeans all. 

It's about women.  You've probably heard that economic growth is driven by women -- at least in the United States, where women are poised to surpass men on the nation's payrolls, according to the New York Times (February 6. 2009).  But the corporate world created by men doesn't always suit women, and we've paid a high price by trying to fit ourselves into the mold.  Women want more flexibility, more freedom and balance -- they want to do work that's meaningful, not just go to work to bring home a paycheck.  And speaking of that paycheck, they want to be paid fairly for the work they do, which still isn't happening in most of the bigger corporations.  So women are starting their own businesses at a record pace.  Privately held businesses owned by women are growing at a rate three times that of other privately held businesses.  Women now own 46% of businesses, and we're moving into an era where the analytical (left brain) is more connected to the emotional (right brain).

It's about the economy (and not using words like "stupid"!).  It's no coincidence that the world economy is failing.  It's a wakeup call to all of us who have been asleep in the relative prosperity of the past decade that we're on the wrong track.  People don't want to "sold" by scare tactics and "in your face" marketing.  It's about relationships, providing what the customer wants and needs.  It's no longer about "he who has the most toys wins" as the popular bumper sticker says.  It's about the end of competitiveness and struggle and the beginning of connection and cooperation. 

There's more, much more, but those are the highlights.  Ali Brown's purpose, what she's here to do, is lead the evolution so we all can adapt and grow and prosper.  I don't know about you, but I am thrilled and excited about a world where we may be able to live in peace and harmony.  I'm also feeling like I am part of the vanguard in evolving into my purpose, working with women to create businesses that feed their soul and their bank account.
